- Rita Maguire is participating in a Comparative Groundwater Law and Policy Program workshop in Sydney, Australia, June 20-22, 2012. Groundwater managers and experts from the U. S. and Australia will focus on the use of science in formulating and implementing effective groundwater policy and the role of markets in promoting effective groundwater management. The program is a joint collaboration among the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment, and the Bill Lane Center for the American West at Stanford University.
